I just couldn't figure out why it could play the segment in the S1 browser (even with the icon) and the file would play in another audio app, but it wouldn't play/display once dragged to a track. I had her plug the drive in directly to the machine with a short cable and now it's working as expected. The files are on an external drive, and I think it was using an extra long cable. I'm thinking the icon really means 'we have no idea what the problem is.' but that's just a WAG. The strange symptom is it plays the file back in the S1 browser with the preview controls, and when I open the file in iZotope RX, it recognized it as a WAV file (and plays). I agree S1 is confused about it, since it's saying 'Unknown format' in the display. I take that to mean there is something about that file that S1 can't read or parse correctly. (Here's the original post with an S1 icon references. I had my client re-export the audio from RX as a test (writing a new WAVE file) but it still failed in this case. If I find the audio on disk and open it in iZotope RX5, it plays as expected. Note that when the audio is selected, it says it's 'WAVE' in one place, but 'Unknown Format' in another. The strange thing is she can play the audio via the preview buttons at the bottom of the S1 browser, but if I have her drag the audio into S1 (from browser OR from disk), it shows an event with no audio. I don't know her other specs but I can find out.ДЄnybody know what it means with the 'Red Bug' icon in the Pool? She has an external hard drive, and I suspect it's the issue, but a couple funny symptoms.
